Addicted to Darcy? Bonkers for Big Balls? Lost all Sense and Sensibility? Well put down your cross stitching and get ready to enjoy an entirely improvised musical in the style of Jane Austen, by Improv veterans ConArtists.

Penny Ashton (Olive Copperbottom, Promise and Promiscuity, Radio NZ), world Famous hobbit Lori Dungey (Lord of the Rings, Xena, Hercules, Master of the Improv Universe) and melodical musical maestro Ross Devereux (Christchurch Jazz School) will spin your suggestions into instant literary magic as they swoon, romp and pianoforte. Ashton and Dungey have a combined improv age of over 70 years, but they’re not ready for retirement just yet. Come and enjoy their infectious love of laughter, storytelling and making things up.

“Jane Austen would turn in her grave with delight”
Rip it Up

“full of fun and frivolity”.
NZ Herald

Then grab a drink and return after Interval for Bonnets and Bubbles: A Jane Austen Literary Saloon. Penny and Lori will engage in a Q&A about their heroine Miss Austen, including Penny’s personal familial relationship to the real Mr Darcy. There’ll be facts, hilarious Austen quotes and one or two toasts to our not so plain Jane. Cheers!
